They claim it would cost £90,000 strange as in November it was stated in a council meeting it would cosy £20,000. Seems Crewe has the highest rate of inflation in the world or the council are telling porkies.

Jan's Page starts RRS Feed

This will provide a new side to the site and users will be able to get the latest crack info by RSS

Save Crewe's War memorial RRS Feed

This will provide a new side to the site and users will be able to get the latest crack info by RSS

New Page of Councilors Replies

All councilors have been asked how they stand on the moving of the War Memorial. the problem will ever be solved so long at the watercourse is used as a
combined sewer overflow. At times of heavy rainfall the northern trunk
sewer becomes overwhelmed and overflows into Leighton Brook resulting in
raw sewage flowing eventually into the Weaver. The banks of the brook are
	left strewn with detritus etc

The problem is one which is acknowledged by United Utilities and is part
of there Asset Management Programme. Work is to take place this year,
probably September, to fit screens to the overflow, which will take some
of the big bits out, but will not stop the sewage. Investigation are
currently taking place to identify cross connections which also contribute
	to the problem.
